Mark Venus is happy for Birmingham city

Mark Venus heaped admiration on Lukas Jutkiewicz following Tuesday night’s draw with Hull City.

The 34-year-old striker came up big for Blues once more, tying the game in the dying minutes with a signature header to put an end to the visitors’ two-game losing streak in the league.

His equaliser cancelled out the Tigers’ hard contested opener, which came from attacker Ozan Tufan using his hand to convert a first-half corner.

As a result, Birmingham City will feel vindicated that Jutkiewicz’ goal, his second at the MKM Stadium this season after scoring in January’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie, won them at least a share of the points.

Speaking on BluesTV after the match, the Assistant Manager praised the frontman’s efforts following his 67th goal for the club.

“He has been fantastic since we arrived. He has persisted with it, trains every day, done extras, and deserves it. I am very thrilled for him.

“He had a significant influence when he came on the pitch. He assisted the players in making their way up the pitch.

“I am pleased for everyone, who came on [and] who started.”

The encounter in East Yorkshire was the first of two away games this week, and Venus was clearly thrilled to get a point ahead of a trip to Millwall on Saturday, March 9 at 3pm.

He expressed his joy at achieving something against a Sky Bet Championship play-off contender and praised the team’s attitude on the road.

“It halts the last two defeats and breaks them. Let’s be honest, it came against a good league team. You won’t be in the top six after 34 games if your team isn’t really good.

“I was extremely impressed with everyone; we stayed with it. We also had a few decisions that went against us, but in the end, I thought we e got our rewards
