Long term injury rookie resumes practice for Broncos; Jerry Jeudy sidelined

Wide receiver Brandon Johnson was activated off injured reserve on Wednesday, marking his first practice reps since he sustained a hamstring injury during the Broncos’ Week 8 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Johnson missed four games, which is the bare minimum for any player on injured reserve. In recent weeks, he has been spotted exercising on a side field as he prepared for a possible comeback.

Even though he missed time, wide receiver Brandon Johnson still has three touchdowns to his credit, second only to teammate wide out Courtland Sutton on the Broncos list.

Jerry Jeudy, the wide receiver, went to the sideline as Brandon Johnson came back. Due to a groin issue, the Broncos forced Jeudy to work on a separate field intended for players recuperating from injuries.

Despite playing 61 percent of the plays in Sunday’s victory over the Cleveland Browns, Jeudy only managed 11 yards on 2 receptions, which is a season low.

GREG DULCICH WORKS OUT

Greg Dulcich, the tight end, continued his recuperation from the hamstring injury he aggravated during the team’s Oct. 12 defeat to Kansas City by working out on a separate practice field.

Early in the season, Dulcich suffered a hamstring injury in the second quarter of the team’s regular-season opener versus Las Vegas, which required four weeks of rehabilitation on the injured reserve list. When he came back, he only managed to catch one pass for three yards in 11 snaps before giving up once more.

On November 9, Sean Payton, the coach of the Broncos, stated that he anticipates Dulcich to make a comeback before the season concludes.

“There’s a process,” Payton explained at the time. “He’s one of those guys that, man, is working his tail off. He’s seen specialists.”

Security Wednesday was practice for P.J. Locke. Due to a hamstring injury he sustained on November 13 at Buffalo, he missed practice on Wednesday and saw limited action the next two days. However, he was back in action on Sunday.

Regarding his return to action against the Browns, Locke stated, “I knew I was going to fight through pain every now and then, but moreso, it was just the mental preparation.” That is the main focus of the game. Ninety percent of the game is mental. And I probably didn’t get as many reps in over the week, but I felt confident when I entered the game.

Following Sunday’s game, Locke acknowledged that he was in pain, “but nothing I can’t handle.”

His recuperation progressed to the extent that the Broncos did not include him on the practice report for Wednesday. Kicker Wil Lutz (right hip) and wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (hamstring) both had limited action.
