Leicester City, according to a former Claret, is a more formidable team than Burnley’s Championship winners

Michael Duff, a former Claret, thinks Leicester City is a more formidable team than Burnley, which won the Championship with 101 points the previous year.

Against Saturday, the 45-year-old, who is currently in charge of Swansea City, takes against the Foxes in South Wales.

“Probably the toughest game of the season” is how Duff describes a matchup with Leicester, who have won 10 of their 11 league games this season.

“I think they will win the league,” he stated.

“They are definitely better than Burnley from previous year, which says it all, in my opinion.

“They are a very good team, so we will occasionally suffer without the ball, but we don’t want to just sit in a block of ten men behind the ball and hope to survive for ninety-five minutes.”

There is no reason to be concerned, but we will need to perform to the best of our abilities. Our goal going into the game will be to try and win.

I believe that over the past several weeks, we have demonstrated our ability to both play and defend.

Teams have attempted various strategies to defeat them, but because they have talented players, they have always prevailed.

“We will have to try and come up with something and impose us on them.”

During his twelve-year career as a player, Duff made 342 appearances for the Clarets after previously playing for Cheltenham Town.

The former center defender joined Burnley’s academy as a coach before moving up to Cheltenham as manager.

Duff left Barnsley after a season to join Swansea this summer.
