LeBron James’ son Bronny linked to Raptors

According to a recent claim by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, the Toronto Raptors are linked to LeBron James’ son Bronny

REPORT: The Raptors are among the clubs scouting Bronny James ahead of the draft, according to @ShamsCharania.

If the Raptors do not make any trades between now and the 2024 NBA Draft, they might have up to three picks, including two first-round selections.

Toronto’s lone second-round pick is also expected to be in the early round, given that the franchise owns the Detroit Pistons’ pick. The Detroit Pistons now have the league’s poorest record (8-46), yet they are only one game behind the Washington Wizards for the Eastern Conference’s No. 14 spot.

The Los Angeles Lakers have also been linked to the younger James recently. The organization is apparently willing to acquire him in order to satisfy the elder James.

The younger James did little to improve his draft prospects at the University of Southern California’s recent loss against the University of Colorado Boulder. Granted, he only played 14 minutes, but the 19-year-old finished with two points, two assists, and one rebound while shooting 1-for-2 from the field.

It’s understandable that the Raptors are apparently scouting the younger James, given that the organization is entering a new era and would like to add as much youthful talent as possible.

The Raptors have played more than 50 games of the 2023-24 regular season and have appeared to be one of the weakest teams in the Eastern Conference. At 19-36, the Raptors have a better record than only three other teams in the conference: the Pistons, Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets.

Scottie Barnes’ performance this season has been one of the team’s few bright spots, and he will play in the All-Star Game on Sunday. In his third NBA season, the 22-year-old is averaging 20.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game, shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from deep.
