LeBron James lost each match in which he broke major NBA scoring records

LeBron James has lost every game where he has reached a significant scoring milestone in the NBA.

LeBron James became the NBA’s first player to reach 40,000 points on Saturday night against the Denver Nuggets. Unfortunately for LeBron, he was unable to celebrate the occasion with a victory, and he has now lost every game in which he has hit a significant scoring milestone in the NBA.

– Passed Michael Jordan in scoring on March 6, 2019, lost 115-99 to the Nuggets

– Passed Kobe Bryant in scoring on January 25, 2020, lost 108-91 to the 76ers

– Passed Karl Malone in scoring on March 19, 2022, lost 127-119 to the Wizards

– Passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on February 7, 2023, lost 133-130 to the Thunder

– Reached 40K points on March 2, 2024, lost 124-114 to the Nuggets

It’s weird that LeBron’s teams have lost on all five occasions. This season, the Lakers also lost to the Nuggets on the day Kobe Bryant’s statue was erected, and they can’t seem to win on important occasions.

LeBron and the Lakers appeared to be on their way to victory on Saturday, as they led by 11 at one point. It became a back-and-forth fight in the second half, but the Nuggets took control with a 9-0 run in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

At this point, it’s possible that the “LeBron James Curse” has arrived. Regardless, the failures do not diminish LeBron’s accomplishments in those games. The 39-year-old has overtaken all previous NBA greats to become the league’s all-time leading scorer, and he is far from finished.

In his 21st NBA season, James had excellent averages of 25.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 7.9 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game. The 20-time All-Star is quickly approaching Oscar Schmidt’s record for most points scored in professional basketball history.

Schmidt scored 49,737 goals throughout his career with numerous teams and the Brazilian national team. LeBron now has 49,629 points (including his points for Team USA and All-Star games), and it is only a matter of time before he surpasses Schmidt. Hopefully, he and the Lakers will win the game where he does it.

Anthony Davis hilariously advised LeBron James to stop breaking records.

In his postgame interview following the defeat to the Nuggets, Anthony Davis said that he told LeBron to quit breaking records since they always lose when he does.

“I was just telling him in the locker room, one, he might have to stop breaking records because we always lose anytime he break a record,” Davis told reporters.

While Davis was merely joking, he could have helped the team win by playing better. He finished with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocks and was totally outplayed by Nikola Jokic. If Davis had played better on both sides of the court, the Lakers might have won.

LeBron had 26 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, and 3 steals for the night. James also confessed that the Nuggets have the Lakers’ number, since the Lakers had lost their eighth consecutive game versus Denver. If these teams meet in the playoffs, the Nuggets are almost certain to win the series.
