Kirt reveals Tennessee Soccer’s 2024 date

Tennessee soccer head coach Joe Kirt revealed the Lady Vols’ regular season schedule on Wednesday morning, which includes games against seven NCAA Tournament teams and three conference winners from 2023.

In Kirt’s third season, Tennessee hopes to build on a 2023 season in which the team advanced to the NCAA Tournament’s second round for the tenth time in program history.

“We are excited to announce our 2024 schedule,” Kirt told me. “Our staff is excited to take the field with a deep and talented team that will compete against the finest teams in the state and around the country. We are excited to welcome fans back to Regal Stadium and begin the fall season.”

The 2024 season begins on August 7 with an exhibition match at Virginia, followed by another exhibition match at home against UNC Asheville on August 11. The regular season will begin on August 15, when UT travels to Indiana. The non-conference schedule will include five more home games against Chattanooga (Aug. 18), Lipscomb (Aug. 25), UCLA (Sept. 5), Florida Atlantic (Sept. 8) and Memphis (Sept. 12), as well as two more away games at ETSU (Aug. 22) and Duke (Sept. 1).

In conference play, the Lady Vols will face five schools at Regal Stadium: Ole Miss (September 19), Vanderbilt (September 29), Missouri (October 4), Auburn (October 13), and South Carolina (October 24). The Big Orange will face Alabama (September 22), Florida (September 26), Arkansas (October 10), Georgia (October 18), and Kentucky (October 27) on the road.

Tennessee’s schedule features seven games against teams that have advanced to the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Additionally, the Lady Vols will face reigning champions from the PAC-12 (UCLA), AAC (Memphis), and SEC (Arkansas).

UT’s 2024 opponent list will include six clubs listed in the top 25 in the final United Soccer Coaches rankings for 2023.

The SEC Tournament will be held in Pensacola, Fla., for the third time in as many years, after previously being held in Orange Beach, Ala., for 18 of 19 seasons. The conference tournament will start on November 3 and last until November 10. The first four rounds of the NCAA Tournament will be held on campus, with the NCAA Women’s College Cup scheduled for December 6-9 in Cary, North Carolina.
