Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna feels new acquisition Jacob Greaves is ready to make the step up to the Premier League with the Blues.
The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract tonight and will join his teammates for a preseason training camp in Austria this weekend.
Greaves, a 6ft 4ins centre-back, was voted to the Championship’s best team last season.
McKenna added, “We are delighted to have brought Jacob to the club and excited to have him as part of the squad.”
“He is a very gifted, technical, and athletic left-sided defender who has excelled in the Championship and is now ready to go on to the Premier League.
“We feel this is the right environment and club for him to do that in and he is a good character who will bring qualities to the group and culture we have built here.”
