Kelechi Iheanacho and two other players could leave Leicester City

Here, we explore at two players who, like Kelechi Iheanacho, could leave the King Power Stadium this summer.

Enzo Maresca is on track to lead Leicester City back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

However, given the strength of Leicester’s squad, many have predicted their promotion.

Many of Leicester’s players had been regulars in the top division for several years before their relegation last season.

Despite their continued presence, there have been several rumors that some of these players, such as Kelechi Iheanacho, will leave regardless of promotion.

The Nigerian striker was extensively linked with a move away in January and last summer, and he is expected to leave on a free transfer regardless of whether Leicester are promoted.

This is most likely owing to his expensive pay and the fact that he is not Leicester City’s current first-choice striker.

But who else could accompany him?

Here’s a look at two players that could leave Leicester this summer.

Wilfred Ndidi

Ndidi has been with Leicester for more than seven years, having joined from Genk in Belgium for £17 million in January 2017.

The Nigeria international has made over 250 appearances for the club, including a significant role in Leicester’s FA Cup victory in 2021.

The 27-year-old had been a fixture for the Foxes this season before suffering a major muscular injury that has kept him out of the squad for the duration of 2024.

His contract expires at the end of the season, and with reports of interest from Barcelona last summer and January, big teams will be sniffing about once more.

Leicester may also be unable to meet his wage demands if they offer him a new contract, even if promoted.

Jamie Vardy

Vardy is clearly a Leicester City club legend.

He has been with the club since the summer of 2012, when he came from Fleetwood Town, and has scored more than 180 goals in 450 appearances.

He scored 24 goals for Leicester during their infamous Premier League victory in 2015/16.

However, Vardy is now 37 years old, and his contract is set to expire at the conclusion of the season, making it unclear whether he will sign a new term or retire.

Leicester are expected to get promoted, prompting speculation over Vardy’s ability to play in the Premier League again.

Vardy has become a more effective substitute this season, so will he be content to be a benchwarmer in the Premier League, or will he retire?

Leicester would also need to consider the potential financial implications of the deal. Vardy is likely to be paid well and would undoubtedly desire to earn more.

Even though Iheanacho does
