Kansas City Chiefs star is producing a romantic film about…

It’s not about you-know-who.

If you’ve ever watched an NFL game and thought, “That’s my idea of romance,” there’s a Christmas movie coming out just for you. Hallmark has partnered up with the Kansas City Chiefs to create Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, which is a cooperation we should have expected.

Hallmark and the Chiefs have teamed together with the NFL and Skydance Sports on a new Christmas romance called Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story. The new movie will begin filming in Kansas City next month and is slated to premiere on the Hallmark Channel this winter. “We are honored to partner with Hallmark on a project as unique as this,” Kansas City Chiefs president Mark Donovan said in a statement to NFL.com. “As a club, we take pride in seeking innovative ways to expand our brand and engage with new people.

This cooperation brings together two passionate fan bases and allows us to showcase Chiefs Kingdom’s enthusiasm and history on one of the most-watched channels throughout the holiday season.”

While some fans may expect the film to chronicle the narrative of music sensation Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, that is not the case. In Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, a Kansas City Chiefs superfan (Hunter King) enters her family in a “Fan of the Year” contest, and the Director of Fan Engagement (Tyler Hynes) meets with her to see if she has what it takes to win. Sparks fly, and… well, you know what happens. Love will take the field. Or another sports parallel

Before the film even begins, social media fans are already giving narrative ideas and even a Taylor Swift Christmas song suggestion

Certainly, the Kansas City Chiefs have focused themselves around a cultural shift that has occurred since Swift began attending Kelce’s games at the end of 2023. While the pair does not appear to be the inspiration for this upcoming Hallmark movie, there will be another audience overlap. Hallmark does not mind the boost either.

“With Hallmark and the Kansas City Chiefs both being homegrown, rooted in values, tradition, and community, there is a special alchemy between these two iconic organizations,” Hallmark chief brand officer Darren Abbott said in a statement to NFL.com. “By blending the warmth of Hallmark storytelling with the excitement of professional football, we are thrilled to give audiences a front-row seat to this community’s spirit, rich traditions and passionate fans that define Kansas City, all wrapped up in the comforting and uplifting Hallmark way.”

There is no announced release date for Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story beyond this winter. And we can’t wait to see what happens.
