Kansas City Chiefs K Harrison Butker released a statement

Butker had a busy week in the spotlight when tennis star Serena Williams mocked him at the ESPY Awards this week. Following his commencement speech, in which he argued that women would be happier raising children than attempting to achieve marvels in the profession, Williams stated that he had no place watching women’s athletics.

In contrast to the commencement speech, Butker issued a statement on Friday appealing for unity. He sent out another post on X following the shooting at Trump’s event.

Butker posted a message on X for the first time since last October.
