Kalen DeBoer hires another coach

The “splash of Washington” continues for Alabama, as Kalen DeBoer finalizes his coaching staff.

Mitch Dahlen, who was an offensive quality control coach at Washington for two seasons, will work as an offensive analyst for DeBoer at the University of Alabama. Dahlen changed his social media profile on X, formerly known as Twitter, to highlight his support for the Crimson Tide. He will hold the title of “Senior Offensive Analyst” and will assist with quarterbacks.

Dahlen helped the Huskies win the Pac-12 Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game last season. He helped Michael Penix and Washington’s offense become one of the nation’s most explosive units.

Dahlen played quarterback at Utah and Southern Utah before beginning his coaching career.

He began as a co-offensive coordinator and passing game coordinator at Sandy (Utah) High School in 2011. Dahlen was the assistant quarterback coach at Southern Utah in 2013 and 2014.

In 2015, he was a guest coach for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League while teaching at the College of Idaho, Boise State University, Black Hills State University, and Fresno State, where he coached quarterbacks, wide receivers, and directed offenses. It’ll be fascinating to watch how he does at Alabama.
