Just In: West Ham likely to sell 23 year old player they signed last season

According to insiders, Mohammed Kudus is now significantly more likely to depart West Ham this summer as a result of Lucas Paqueta’s betting accusation.

The London club had hoped to earn an £85 million fee for the Brazil international to supplement the money for new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Manchester City have initiated preliminary conversations with Paqueta, 26, after being close to signing him last year.

However, Football Insider revealed on May 31 that the move has been called off due to allegations against the offensive midfielder for violating the FA’s betting rules.

According to sources, Kudus, 23, might now be the mega-money summer sale at the London Stadium due to the uncertainty surrounding Paqueta’s status.

Premier League clubs are reportedly interested in signing the Ghana international after he impressed during his first season at West Ham.

The forward signed a contract until 2028 after leaving Ajax for £38.5 million last summer.

Mohammed Kudus could be sold West Ham summer transfers

Kudus has become a fan favourite at the London Stadium, having scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 45 games last season.

The Ghanaian had a great relationship with Paqueta as West Ham advanced to the Europa League quarterfinals before being eliminated by Bundesliga winners Bayer Leverkusen.

Former England and Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that the Premier League club would be challenged with offers for the striking combo this summer.

However, with Paqueta’s position uncertain, Kudus is now expected to garner the most of the attention as elite clubs consider a move for him when the transfer window reopens.

Last month, Football Insider stated that any large payments received by the club this summer will be used to enhance their transfer budget in preparation for potential new signing.
