OU softball gained another pitcher on Saturday, and it wasn’t NiJaree Canady.
Former Louisiana right-hander Sam Landry committed to the Sooners, and she revealed it on Instagram.
Landry is head coach Patty Gasso’s sixth transfer portal commitment this offseason, filling OU’s final roster position. Landry joins Campbell pitcher Isabella Smith, North Carolina catcher Isabela Emerling, Utah outfielder Abby Dayton, and Brigham Young infielder Ailana Agbayani as Sooner portal commits.
Landry won 24 games with a 2.09 ERA in 2024, allowing 26 extra base hits over 127 1/3 innings. Landry led Louisiana in strikeouts (165) and limited opponents to a.219 batting average.
OU returns Kierston Deal, who had a 14-1 record with a 1.97 ERA in 78 ⅓ innings last season.
