Just In: Nottingham Forest show exit door to out of favor player

Nottingham Forest will have another busy summer, and one of their players will be permitted to depart for a reduced fee.

Forest are almost safe heading into today’s final game of the season against Burnley.

The team would need a 12-goal swing against Luton on the penultimate day before making loose arrangements for the following season.

Although Forest plans to sign a few players, some more will exit, and the Reds must clear the decks.

One player who has previously been important to Forest could be on the move, and someone could get a good deal.

Nottingham Forest will sell Joe Worrall in bargain deal

Worrall was not expected to sign permanently for Besiktas after his loan term, according to reports last week.

He hasn’t been playing much football there, and it appears that he hasn’t made an impact on the squad.

Worrall is now set to return to Forest, and it has been revealed what the scenario will be over the summer.

According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon, Forest will sell the central defender for just £4 million.

Forest do not appear to have any intentions to bring Worrall back into the fold, and a permanent exodus appears to be the most likely outcome.

Worrall has played 226 games with the Reds, but he may have made his last appearance in the Garibaldi.

Forest would be wise to cash in on central defender

It’s safe to say that Worrall made a dream come true by captaining the team to promotion.

He was subsequently given the opportunity to lead the squad in the Premier League, which no doubt struck a chord with him.

Earlier this season, it was stated that Worrall had a falling out with Steve Cooper, which appeared to be the tipping point.

Cooper was idolised by everyone at the football club, and Worrall was reported to have taken offense after being told he would not play against Aston Villa.

There will undoubtedly be some takers for £4 million, and Worrall’s days at Forest appear to be numbered with this update.

Worrall is ultimately a victim of the club’s failure to adequately prepare for the Premier League season.

The team now possesses central defenders who are more able to deal with the top league, and the 27-year-old will be sidelined at the City Ground.
