Just In: Nottingham Forest player wants his loan move permanent

Orel Mangala (26) hopes that his loan from Nottingham Forest to Olympique Lyonnais will be extended beyond his current contract.

Mangala joined Lyon as part of the club’s winter recruitment drive, which saw them become Europe’s highest spenders. If Lyon activates Mangala’s buy option, the contract could be the most lucrative in the club’s history.

However, his minutes have been limited since moving to France, with the midfielder making only ten appearances across all competitions, scoring twice in those few opportunities.

Still, Mangala looks to have loved his time in Lyon, and when speaking to the press, he indicated his wish for the club to make his move from the Premier League permanent.

Orel Mangala wants to remain at Lyon

The midfielder stated, “I feel good here, even if a few physical problems have prevented me from continuing. I am happy with my season and the confidence that was placed in me. The purchase option? I hope it will be triggered, yes.” However, whether Lyon have seen enough from the midfielder to break their transfer record will have to be seen.
