Just In: Browns to lose HC

Titans will connect father and son, with Bill joining HC. Brian Callahan

As February arrives, the Cleveland Browns’ offensive coaching staff continues to change. The Browns have previously let go of offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt, running backs coach Stump Mitchell, and tight ends coach TC McCartney. The New England Patriots have hired AVP as their offensive coordinator.

Cleveland has new coaches in place for offensive coordinator, running backs, and tight ends, but another position is available.

Bill Callahan’s decision to join his son Brian as head coach of the Tennessee Titans made sense.Despite the Browns signing Callahan to a hefty agreement last offseason, reports say the Titans have requested an interview with him and are poised to hire him to join his son.

Callahan is an excellent offensive line coach and was named the team’s “unsung MVP” last year.

Before appointing Ken Dorsey as offensive coordinator, Cleveland interviewed Andy Dickerson, the offensive line coach for the Seattle Seahawks. Dickerson may replace Callahan on HC Kevin Stefanski’s staff.

The Browns have not made any coaching staff changes public, and are unlikely to do so until the full roster is filled. The Titans may not be done stealing Cleveland staff; they have also interviewed the team’s defensive backs coach for the role of defensive coordinator.

It’s noteworthy that the Browns appear to have accepted Callahan’s lateral move despite paying him a lot of money last offseason.

We will keep you updated on all Cleveland coaching staff news and rumors as they become available.
