Just In: 3-star tight end commits to BYU football

The fourth prospect who committed to the Cougars after a hectic recruiting weekend has familial ties to the BYU program.

At just after midnight on Monday morning, BYU football earned another commitment to its 2025 recruiting class.

This one is from Jackson Doman, a tight end from the Pacific Northwest.

Who is Jackson Doman?

247 Sports ranks Doman as a three-star recruit with an 87 player rating; he does not have an industry composite ranking.

He is listed as 6-foot-6 and 215 pounds and previously played edge rusher for Canby High School in Canby, Oregon. He is a member of the Doman family, which includes former BYU linebackers Sam Doman (his uncle) and Brandon Doman (a second cousin, according to Cougar Sports Insider Jeff Hansen).

Jackson Doman made an official visit to BYU over the weekend and chose the Cougars over rival offers from Washington State, Oregon State, and many Mountain West Conference schools, according to 247 Sports.

How is BYU football’s 2025 recruiting class shaping up?

Doman is the highest-rated of three tight end prospects committed to BYU in the 2025 class, joining Blake Bryce (California) and Tucker Kelleher (Georgia).

Doman became the fourth athlete to pledge to the Cougars during a successful recruiting weekend, following four-star wide receiver LaMason Waller, Kelleher, and edge rusher Ulavai Fetuli.

With Doman’s addition, BYU now has 11 commits in their 2025 class. The others are linebacker Tyler Payne (Weber High), quarterback Nolan Keeney (Oregon), running back Cale Breslin (Nevada), offensive tackle Kelepi Vete (California), edge rusher Sale Fano (Westlake High), and punter Will Walker (Riverton High).
