Journalist shares what he’s heard concerning Nuno’s future at Nottingham Forest

Daniel Taylor has revealed what he has been informed regarding Nuno Espirito Santo and his future at Nottingham Forest.

The 50-year-old head coach succeeded Steve Cooper at Forest in December and guided the club to Premier League safety.

During his 26-game tenure, he supervised seven wins, two of which came in the final three games of the season.

Fabrizio Romano recently alleged that Espirito Santo was not safe at Forest, and Taylor has now confirmed what he has heard.

One admirer inquired about Espirito Santo’s future, and Taylor has now elaborated on what he knows.

For the time being, it appears that Forest manager Espirito Santo is doing well.

He told The Athletic: “I’ve been told Espirito Santo will stay at Forest, despite recent conjecture and speculations. However, it’s not totally clear… It’s football, this is Forest, and things may change. But that’s my information, and I’ll try to convey some of the context.

“For starters, he benefits from the fact that the players like him. He’s done a fantastic job on that front, as evidenced by the Wolves story that he and Morgan Gibbs-White were not close.

“Nuno has made several questionable decisions in some matches. The results haven’t been great, and I don’t think it has helped that Oliver Glasner, who competed with Nuno for the position, has been so successful at Crystal Palace.”

Head coach deserves full season with Forest

Cooper was given a couple bad runs in the Premier League, and for what it’s worth, we think Espirito Santo deserves some time at Forest as well.

Ultimately, the former Wolves and Tottenham manager is an experienced head coach who deserves a full pre-season.

Furthermore, he wants to provide balance to the group and deserves the opportunity to bring in his own players.

Forest don’t need another chaotic summer, and Espirito Santo can bring some serenity to the dressing room next season.

If he does make his own ideas and things don’t perk up next season, Evangelos Marinakis may have an argument to get rid of him.

Forest is currently in safer hands with Espirito Santo than without him.
