Journalist comments on Leeds loanee’s performance following ‘rash’ start at new club: “He would admit”

Birmingham Cody Drameh, a loanee from Leeds United to Birmingham City, has improved in form, according to live writer Alex Dicken, following a ‘rash’ start to life there.

In an interview with Leeds Live, Dicken gave an update on his loan assignment and asserted that Drameh was ‘even’ one of Birmingham’s finest performers in their recent victory over West Brom.

Drameh had been predicted in preseason to finally break through at Leeds, but a preseason injury meant he began the season as Luke Ayling’s backup.

After Leeds’ attempts to sign Max Aarons, it became obvious that he had no future under Daniel Farke. The final nail in the coffin was his appearance off the bench versus Ipswich Town, where he was taken off less than 20 minutes after going on.

As a result, Leeds made the decision to sign Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan, enabling Drameh to complete his third brief transfer from Elland Road to the Blues.

Dicken claims that Drameh has grown stronger from his ‘rash’ beginning
After a ‘rash’ debut, Dicken claims Drameh has improved with each game and has two assists in his previous two games.

He said: “I think he would confess it himself, but he appeared a touch hasty on his debut. Although it was clear that he had not played much football over the summer, the Blues urgently required him to start matches.

Drameh has significantly improved over the past month to the point that, in the Blues’ triumph over West Brom prior to the international break, he was among their finest performers.

“He had back-to-back assists last week and played outstanding defense. Drameh hasn’t been flawless, but he has become better with pitching experience.

Drameh regaining his confidence.

It sounds like Drameh brought his lack of confidence from Leeds to the West Midlands when he joined Birmingham on deadline day.

He obviously struggled to recover from the terrifying afternoon he had at Ipswich, but after getting consistent game time, he now seems to be in top form.

Regardless matter how he performs, his time at Leeds is almost probably ended because Birmingham has the right to purchase him and his contract expires in the summer of 2019.
