Jose Mourinho has named a Nottingham Forest midfielder to a three-man shortlist to fill the final spot in his Fenerbahce squad this summer.

The manager, who has had an eventful career, is eager to strengthen his squad and is looking to England, a country he knows well, for reinforcements.

Forest are busy attempting to bolster their own ranks this summer, and they do not want to lose anyone who is regarded as essential ahead of next season.

Mourinho is now looking at Forest as a club that could help him secure the midfield enforcer he so sorely needs.

Jose Mourinho places Ibrahim Sangare on transfer shortlist

This information comes from A Spor in Turkey, and considering that it is a Turkish report, it should be interpreted with caution.

Sangare is on Fenerbahce’s shortlist, with Burnley midfielder Sander Berge and Crystal Palace standout Jefferson Lerma.

The Ivorian joined the Reds from PSV on transfer deadline day last summer for a club record £30 million transfer price.

He struggled in the Premier League due to a lack of sufficient pre-season preparation with the Reds.

He returned from the African Cup of Nations with an illness that caused him to lose a lot of weight and failed to make an impact in the Premier League.

So far in pre-season, he appears to be a different player, doing well against Chesterfield and Sunderland.

A Turkish journalist known as Ork has claimed on X that Sangare is the subject of a £12 million deal, with a further £2 million in add-ons.

If it is true, the Reds will undoubtedly laugh that bid out of the boardroom.

Forest should keep Sangare this summer

During his tenure at PSV, Roger Schmidt, the player’s manager in Holland, described Sangare as “unstoppable.”

Although Sangare wasn’t terrific during his first season in England, he had a lot to deal with, and there’s a player somewhere.

Sangare is only 26 years old, therefore he still has time to succeed at City Ground.

Fenerbahce may want to recruit Sangare, but they will have to lift the ante in terms of the offer they make.

Forest will undoubtedly want much closer to what they spent for Sangare – and even then, there is a potential that Forest may want to keep the Ivorian and give him a chance this season.
