Jonathan Taylor discusses how the Colts’ offense is able to “flourish” with the aid of Shane Steichen

Running back Jonathan Taylor of the Indianapolis Colts nearly left the team this season.

On October 7, he will be happy to sign a three-year, $42 million contract extension. He is therefore studying from Shane Steichen, the head coach in his first season, according to Raven Moore of Colts.com (via Michael David Smith of PFT).

I’ve been talking to you guys about this for the past few weeks. He is allowing the players to showcase their skills and implementing specific plans to enable their growth. You can never predict what we will reveal. You’re never sure what play we’re going to run. It’s just Shane Steichen’s offensive thinking,” Jonathan Taylor stated on Wednesday.

Jonathan Taylor is improving under Shane Steichen’s watchful eye

Since making his NFL debut in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans, Jonathan Taylor’s performance has improved. He gained 34 scrimmage yards and seven touches in the Colts’ 23-16 victory over Tennessee. Two weeks later, Jonathan Taylor had amassed 120 scrimmage years and 21 touches.

Regretfully, the Colts were defeated 39–38 by the Cleveland Browns in a contentious fashion. After that game, Jim Irsay, the owner of the Colts, tweeted that the NFL had acknowledged making multiple officiating errors.

Jonathan Taylor’s comeback can be attributed in part to his development as a pass-catcher. This season, he has nine receptions for 107 receiving yards already. By comparison, in 11 games in 2022, he totaled 143 receiving yards. He might set a new career high if he continues at this pace and end up with over 400 receiving yards.

The running back Alvin Kamara of the New Orleans Saints is among the finest at catching passes. After seven games this year, he already has 35 receptions. Jonathan Taylor thinks highly of Kamara’s running abilities.

Taylor remarked, “I mean, the way he runs seems like he’s not even trying for some reason.”

When the Colts play the Saints in Week 8, we will witness both Jonathan Taylor and Alvin Kamara in action.
