Joe Namath on who replaces Nick Saban

Joe Namath has no idea who will be the next Alabama football coach, but he knows Alabama athletic director Greg Byrne has a lot on his plate.

The great Alabama quarterback, who joined Kaitlan Collins on Thursday night, had nothing but contempt for the Alabama athletic director.

“I don’t think anybody is looking forward to filling his shoes,” Namath remarked of Saban. “This is a difficult task. It will take a brave heart to enter there, but we honestly believe the Crimson Tide will be powerful and continue to develop.”

He claims that the next coach will be unable to replace Saban. Instead, he must “be his own man.”

Oregon coach Dan Lanning announced his intention to stay at the university on Thursday. According to the most current reports, Washington’s Kale DeBoer, Florida State’s Mike Norvell, and Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees are the three possibilities to keep an eye on.

Namath, who led the Crimson Tide to a 29-4 record over three seasons, including the 1964 national championship under Paul “Bear” Bryant, described Saban and Bryant’s similarities.

“Coach Bryant was a teacher,” he says. “Nick works as a teacher.” He demanded that people respect one another and other individuals.

“Nick, he showed the players how to accept responsibility.” You play football for a while, but your life awaits you. Off the field is really crucial. Coach Saban is not just a terrific leader on the field, coaching these guys hands-on, but he is also preparing for the major game of life. And (Miss) Terry (Saban) has been there every step of the way.”
