Jim Irsay may have broken an NFL regulation with his X post regarding the officials

The NFL admits and understands that they did not make the correct calls at end of Sunday’s Colts/Browns Game.

Jim Irsay, the owner of the Indianapolis Colts, is prone to posting through it occasionally, just like a lot of us. But this time, he may have put himself in serious danger.

On Sunday, the Cleveland Browns defeated the Colts in a thrilling 39-38 game. In the last minute of the game, two contentious officiating calls against Indianapolis appeared to be crucial to that result.

Irsay gave Colts supporters an update on X on Tuesday. The surgery on rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, which seemed to go well, was the subject of the first section of the piece. The calls, which the owner claims the league has now acknowledged were incorrect, were the subject of the second section of the post.

Irsay remarked, “The NFL acknowledges and comprehends that they did not make the right decisions at the conclusion of Sunday’s Colts/Browns Game.” “In the final two minutes of every game, I think we should implement instant replay for all calls, including penalties.”

That’s all well and good, but the bad news is that by making that information publicly available, Irsay appears to have broken a rather clear NFL regulation.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, officials from the team are not permitted to discuss the nature of their post-game discussions with the league on officiating. That sounds a lot like Irsay’s actions.

Naturally, the owner of the Colts has never been very concerned with him running his mouth. During the negotiations with Jonathan Taylor, he put his foot in his mouth. He has made jabs at Peyton Manning, the franchise icon.

On Twitter, he once revealed his team’s draft strategy. He didn’t handle criticism of Jeff Saturday’s hire very well. Also, he is being haunted by his strange social media videos.

Anytime is a good time if there is someone with the Colts who can take Irsay’s phone away.
