Jim Harbaugh gives shocking reason for departing Michigan

Jim Harbaugh is returning to the NFL.

Following Michigan’s victory in the College Football Playoff national title, Harbaugh revealed that he would be leaving the Wolverines to return to the big leagues, taking over as head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.

On Sunday, Harbaugh was in Baltimore to witness his older brother John lead the Ravens to the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Before the game, the younger Harbaugh met with the CBS crew to discuss his comeback to the NFL.

According to Harbaugh, the choice was based on one basic factor. “It was challenging. “I was torn,” Harbaugh explained. “My wife and kids. I adore Michigan. However, I enjoy watching the NFL as well. There is no Lombardi Trophy in college football. I only have a limited number of sands remaining in the hourglass, therefore I’d want to try.”

Harbaugh will face a daunting assignment if he is to win the Lombardi Trophy, as the Chargers compete in an AFC West division dominated by the Chiefs for nearly a decade. The 2024 season cannot arrive soon enough.
