Jets allegedly worked out a controversial former player for Browns

The New York Jets have managed to remain competitive despite losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers, a potential Hall of Famer, for the whole season in Week 1.

They have fought their way to a 4-3 record against what seems like insurmountable odds, and they are currently vying for an AFC playoff spot.

Field Yates reports that New York has been successful defensively and that they have a promising potential in former Cleveland Browns defensive end Perrion Winfrey.

After spending two seasons at the University of Oklahoma, Winfrey was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In 13 games as a rookie, he recorded 22 total tackles (eight solo), two quarterback hits, and two passes defensed.

Nevertheless, he has been involved in issues twice.

He was detained in April of this year on suspicion of misdemeanor assault after it was claimed he had grabbed the woman he was seeing and hurt her physically.

Later, after he completed a pretrial diversion program, the case was withdrawn.

Next, during an alleged aggravated robbery incident in a Cleveland hotel in July, Winfrey was under police investigation for reportedly pulling a gun on a woman and threatening her.
