Jerome Ford of the Browns has bad news as a new running back signs.

With Jerome Ford’s status unknown, the Cleveland Browns added running back John Kelly to their practice squad.

Since Ford hurt his ankle against the Indianapolis Colts, the Browns have added three running backs this week, including Kelly. Ford has been deemed doubtful despite having limited practice this week. Jordan Wilkins and Nate McCrary, two more running backs, were added by the Browns to their practice squad.

In Cleveland, Kelly’s visage is well-known. In addition to playing with Cleveland in the preseason, he made five appearances with the Browns in 2021 and 2022. The Los Angeles Rams selected him first overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ford suffered a low-grade, high ankle sprain against the Indianapolis Colts. Ford was supposed to miss one to two weeks due to his injuries. He did, however, “surprise” the team with his practice performance.

Despite having a sprained ankle, Browns running back Jerome Ford “surprised” the team on Thursday, according to a source. Following Ford’s testing during today’s practice, Schefter tweeted on Friday, “The Browns are listing him as questionable for Sunday’s game due to his sprained ankle.”

Stefanski on Ford: ‘I Saw a Limited Player’

Speaking to the media, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski presented a slightly different picture.

Stefanski remarked of Ford, “I saw a limited player.” We’ll make decisions because all these men are recovering from injury. After seeing the video, we’ll decide how they appear in 48 hours and then watch to see where it goes.

After Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 of the NFL, Ford assumed the lead back role in Cleveland. In terms of carries (78) and yards (344), he leads the club. This season, he has averaged 4.4 yards per carry.

Even if he chooses not to suit up, Ford stated he is still eager to assist in any manner on Sunday.

“No matter what, I’ll help the team,” Ford declared on Friday, October 27. “If I am able to play, I will be there on the field or as a moral supporter, passing out water and seeing to it that everyone is taken care of.”

Browns RB Kareem Hunt Ready for More Work

Kareem Hunt, a seasoned running back, will assume the lead back role in Ford’s absence. Given that he didn’t have a squad to begin the season, Hunt finds the situation strange.

Thinking about it is a little absurd. Hunt, who signed two days after Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury, stated, “Like I said about midway through September, if you would have asked me, I probably wouldn’t have said I wasn’t coming back or something or I didn’t know or think about that.” However, it did occur, and I suppose there was a purpose for it. God has a purpose for this team and for us.

Despite having a thigh injury the previous week, Hunt was still able to play against the Colts. Over the past two weeks, he has ran for 78 yards and three touchdowns.

Hunt stated, “You just had to go out there and play, and that’s kind of what it was.” “It’s difficult to pinpoint a finish date, but I believe I’ll continue to improve and feel fantastic every week.”

Deshaun Watson, the quarterback for the Browns, will be sidelined against the Seahawks once more. Notable athletes who are doubtful include linebacker Sione Takitaki (hamstring), left lineman Jedrick Wills Jr. (foot, ankle), and wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (back).
