Jake Paul’s loyal partner answers to Eddie Hearn’s criticism of the Mike Tyson mega-fight

Eddie Hearn criticised the planned battle between YouTube star Jake Paul and boxing great Mike Tyson, causing Paul’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian to hit out.

Jake Paul’s business partner has labeled Eddie Hearn a “hypocrite” for calling the YouTube star’s upcoming battle against Mike Tyson “sad”.

Paul, who has a 9-1 professional boxing record, is scheduled to face Tyson in July in a fight that will be televised on Netflix. However, Hearn does not want to see ‘Iron Mike’ return to the ring because he will be 58 when he fights Paul.

“You’re probably asking the wrong person because I’m a hardcore boxing fan and Mike Tyson is one of my favourite fighters of all time, but it’s a big event.” Hearn informed Mirror Fighting. “I feel it rather terrible that someone as accomplished as Mike Tyson is fighting at his age and possibly lose to Jake Paul.

“But money’s money, and money does strange things.” And when asked if he was “out of that game” after earlier promoting a rematch between YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul in 2019, Hearn replied: “I have been for a long time, ever since I did KSI vs Logan Paul, but I understand.

“That’s a strange one, because Mike Tyson doesn’t necessarily appeal to that younger age, but we all know who he is, and most of the world does as well. I just don’t like the notion that he is almost 60. “I just don’t believe you should be fighting at that age.”

Nakisa Bidarian, who co-founded Most Valuable Promotions with Paul in 2021, has struck back at Hearn. On social media, Bidarian described Hearn’s statements as “incredibly sad” and stated that he hopes to create a bout between Conor Benn and Manny Pacquiao, 45, who last fought professionally in 2021.

“It’s incredibly ironic and, as usual, hypocritical of Eddie Hearn to talk negatively about another event,” Bidarian said in a statement. “Eddie was standing between Manny Pacquiao, a very small-statured 45-year-old man, and his next opponent, a 27-year-old Matchroom fighter who has had trouble regaining his UK boxing license.

“It’s very sad. He spends more time talking about other people’s businesses than he does on his own.” Benn does not currently hold a British Boxing Board of Control (BBBoC) licence since he failed two clomifene drug tests before a fight against Chris Eubank Jr in 2022.

Last July, the National Anti-Doping Panel removed his suspension from fighting, but the BBBoC and UK Anti-Doping Agency are currently appealing the judgment. As a result, Benn’s most recent fights against Rodolfo Orozco and Peter Dobson were both held in America under a US license.
