J.J. McCarthy discloses what Jim Harbaugh advised him

Ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft, there are only a few collegiate quarterbacks that could be selected in the first round, including J.J. McCarthy of the University of Michigan.

Although McCarthy is at the bottom of the list of elite quarterback prospects, he may be able to wow some NFL teams ahead of the draft and improve his draft position in the coming weeks.

Jim Harbaugh, former head coach of the Michigan Wolverines and new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, has been a mentor to McCarthy, and he discussed the wisdom his old coach given him as he prepares for the NFL on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

“Just so much wisdom being passed down,” McCarthy explained. “Things you never thought about. Just small things that you would think are insignificant, yet they pay off big time. That’s one of the things I admire most about him. His teaching is incredibly simple, easy to understand, yet meaningful on a deep level.”

Along with providing McCarthy some sound advise on how to make the move from college to the NFL, he believes the former Wolverines quarterback will be the first player selected at his position in the draft.

Unfortunately for McCarthy, he will be lucky to be the fourth quarterback selected in the first round, with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels projected to go before him.
