It’s time to change coach according to Bruce James

A former Razorback star demands a new coach in a Channel 7 segment airing on Wednesday.

The Razorbacks have had an extremely difficult and unsatisfactory football season in 2023. Since the team’s defeat to BYU, which started the six-game losing skid, supporters, fans, and former players have been demanding for coach Sam Pittman’s resignation.

Two weeks prior, a significant road victory over Florida was equated with the departure of offensive coordinator Dan Enos. But a poor showing last Saturday against Auburn gave supporters hope that their team might be losing steam.

Razorback football’s current situation is starting to bother both the media and former players. Bruce James, a former Razorback, expressed his desire to start over on Little Rock’s Channel 7.

“Are we going to start over or are we going to make this work and try something different with a new offensive coordinator next year?” James reflected.

Arkansas would be holding onto a sizable sum of money, precisely $16 million, should they choose to keep Pittman on for an additional year. Who could the Razorbacks sign to bolster the offense that is lagging behind would be the key question. The majority of coaches exude confidence and never think they will fail in any endeavor.

James remarked, “In my opinion, you should look for a new football coach.” It will require them two or three years to bring in their personnel and recruits when they take over as coach.

Compared to three years ago, coaches can now turn around a program more quickly in college football. A team can improve at any time because the transfer portal allows talented players to leave their school whenever they want. Under a new coach, a first-year advantage is extremely likely. It has been difficult for Arkansas to maintain a winning culture during the last ten years, but the right coach might help the team continue to succeed.

“With Texas and Oklahoma joining us, the future looks even more difficult every week,” James remarked. “However, I support replacing [Pittman].”

The football team may suffer another setback if athletics director Hunter Yurachek chooses to retain Pittman for a another year.

According to James, “the current perception of Sam [Pittman] is a failed situation with our football team.” “We were all excited about who was going to return, how much better the offense would be, and how KJ [Jefferson] would be in a scheme that would help him stay in the pocket and throw the ball more accurately.” The idea is that things simply didn’t work out.
