‘It’s fantastic to hear it’: Hladky of claimed interest from other teams in him

Ipswich Town goalkeeper Vaclav Hadky admits it’s ‘great’ to hear his name connected to other clubs’ interest, but insists he’s completely focused on giving his all for the Blues.

Since filling in for the injured Christian Walton on the eve of the season, the Czech goalkeeper has been one of the finest in the Championship.

It was reported last week that Celtic are among the clubs interested in the 33-year-old, whose contract expires at the end of the season.

According to his agent, Martin Stepanovsky, the aim was to ‘negotiate on an extension and proceed to the Premier League.’

And, when asked about the talk ahead of today’s trip to Stoke City, Hladky said: “If you are in a good position and playing well in the Championship, and obviously the team is doing well as well, that makes other clubs interested.”

“I believe everyone on this team is capable of playing elsewhere.” It’s pleasant to hear it and listen to it, so I’ll simply keep going and push harder.

“I believe there is much more to be delivered, and it’s an honor to be in that position.”

“My focus is just on Stoke – that’s all that I can say now.”

Hladky was also questioned if he had considered where he wanted to be after this season ended.

“Yeah, for sure,” he said.

“Obviously, it’s an honor to be in this position, and I want to give it my all in every game.”

“The next one is Stoke, and I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself.” I’m constantly looking forward to the next one, and that’s what we do every week.”
