‘It’s been a bit crazy’: The Lions defender on how the Millwall players have been feeling over the past few days

Only a few days before a hard journey to Preston, Gary Rowett announced his resignation.

The last few days, according to Jake Cooper, have been “a bit crazy” as Millwall’s players adapted to life without Gary Rowett.

Just a few days before the international break came to an end, the head coach and the club reached an understanding to go.

In spite of the happenings off the field, the Lions played well in their 1-1 draw against third-place Preston.

According to Cooper, adjusting to the new normal has taken some time.

After yesterday’s game, he said to NewsAtDen, “To be honest, it’s been a bit crazy and a bit all over the place.” Being unaware of what’s happening and similar situations. However, Adam arrived on Thursday and explained the situation as well as his preferred course of action. The boys have accepted that.

“We’re all focused on trying to get results for Ads and the fans who have come up here today. That will be our main focus when we go back on Tuesday. Ads is a very popular person in the football club.”

Both Barrett and Cooper joined the team in 2017, and the 28-year-old defender likes his new interim manager.

“I believe that during my entire tenure at the club, I have collaborated closely with Adam,” Cooper continued. He used to work closely with me on defense, and we used to execute a lot of set plays together.

Didn’t notice too much from a tactical standpoint because he was more focused on those aspects. However, he is a terrific asset to the football team because he is a really enthusiastic, upbeat, laid-back, and approachable individual.

Regarding the actual game, Cooper remarked, “[It was] clearly a very challenging start, not at all the start we wanted.” However, I believe that after the initial wobbly ten to fifteen minutes, we really rallied and played our game, and I felt it was a fantastic performance. The second half was a little shaky after that, but it was still a difficult place to be.

“Preston has had a fantastic start to the season and has been flying high. They are a large physical team that makes things difficult for opposing teams. We had to confront that, and I believe we did so quite well.
