Juventus has categorically denied claims that they were aware of Nicolo Fagioli’s gambling problems and decided not to intervene.

Fagioli and several other Italian athletes have recently come under fire for breaking betting laws.

Nicolo Zaniolo and Sandro Tonali have been provisionally dropped from the Italian national team roster as a result of this circumstance.

Initial media reports claimed that Fagioli acted independently and that Juventus was not involved in the matter. Fabrizio Corona, a gossip columnist, claims that Juventus was aware of the problem before to the start of preseason but chose not to address it.

He alleges that Juventus covered up the situation by keeping Fagioli at home while the rest of the team went to the United States for preseason practice. Juventus has refuted these claims, stating that they were unaware of Fagioli’s gambling issues.

However, the club has refuted this claim and released a statement that goes as follows:

In response to information that has been reported by a number of media sites, Juventus FC states that it alerted the FIGC Federal Prosecutor’s Office as soon as it learned that player Nicolo Fagioli might have been involved in a betting scandal.

Because we are typically easy pickings for the rumor mill, we anticipated being involved in this situation eventually.

We support our team and accept their denial of the accusation as supporters nevertheless.
