Put an end to the clock. With Devin Bush, we’re taking a break to help the 12s get to know the Seahawks player who likes to read and go fishing.

Bush grew up in Florida and was coached by his father in high school.
It was enjoyable and different. But there were difficulties as well. Those choices are undoubtedly important because your dad is both your father and your coach, but it was also a wonderful opportunity for us to get closer. It was a lot of fun because we both played and loved the game of football.”
Michigan was the right place to be.
“Coach Harbaugh, it was his first year since leaving the 49ers, so it was a good opportunity. Since they had a dynasty there for a while, I was certain that I would receive a professional-style program. I kind of just ended up at Michigan because all the head coaches at a lot of the schools I liked left.”
Devin was known as the hardest hitter on the team.
“Yeah I was up there.”
Before signing with Seattle, Bush was with the Pittsburgh Steelers
“Well, you get what you get in that place. You are handled like a professional by them. Because it’s a prestigious organization, you will have a large following and meet a lot of interesting people. Until you actually meet someone, you can never tell who is a true Steelers fan. Because it’s a small city and a sports city, where everyone is very interested in sports, you learn a lot there.”
He still has a place in Pittsburgh.
“Yeah it was cool, I have a place there currently. It’s nice, very chill, and family oriented.”
Seattle has some nice scenery that he likes.
“It’s nice, nice scenery. Beautiful, a lot of places to eat and a lot of different cultural dishes to eat. I like Daniels Broiler, it was cool.”
His thoughts on the throwback uniforms.
“I can’t wait, they’re fire. I wished they would bring them out some more. I wish the league would bring out a different uniform for each game.”
Bush is excited for fellow Wolverine, Mike Morris, playing this season.
“I was somewhat familiar with him from Michigan. I wasn’t there when he arrived in Michigan because he was years younger than me. From what I’ve seen so far, he has enormous raw talent and is strong and big—you name it, he has it. He is merely an amateur. Hasn’t played much in the NFL, but he will be friendly once he does.”
You can find Bush outside when not playing football.
“Since I’ve been out here honestly, I like nature walking. Music, reading, watching films and movies. I like to fish but have not been fishing here. Pretty much any outdoor sport.”
Music is not a big part of Devin’s pregame routine.
“I don’t use music for like energy. I use music as a way to pass the time by. I would be listening to anything.”
His gameday routine is not too complicated.
“I’m going to have some light breakfast, drink some water, and get up in the morning. Stretch out in the pool the night before or the morning of the event. Avoid overindulging in music and instead watch a short film and review some notes. I usually start listening to reggae music closer to gameday. Play some nostalgic pop music from the 1990s and early 2000s. I think I listen to more modern music once I’m in the locker room.”
Being the best teammate is important to Devin.
“Being the best teammate I can be and winning are my two main objectives. Everything else, in my opinion, just kind of fits into those two categories. Everyone wants to enter the game and, of course, be this and that—an All-Pro. However, I believe that winning and being the greatest teammate I can be will take care of everything.”
