Is Nick Sirianni in risk of losing his job?

Last year, the Eagles won the Super Bowl.

They are 10-1 so far this season. However, something has gone badly wrong in recent weeks, and some believe that coach Nick Sirianni may be in trouble if the Eagles follow their 1-5 season with a 0-1 postseason record.

The Eagles would dismiss such speculation, pointing out that Sirianni has led the team to the playoffs in each of his three seasons as head coach. Even if the Eagles are blown out, some in the NFL believe a coaching change is improbable.

If things continue to go wrong against the Bucs, there is an undeniable subtext that a change isn’t out of the question. The availability of Bill Belichick might be crucial.

In the same way that Belichick would be an upgrade over Mike McCarthy in Dallas, the Eagles might elect to replace the person who got to one Super Bowl with the one who got to nine and won six.

It’s possible that the Eagles don’t want Sirianni to stress out before of Monday’s game. It’s possible they wouldn’t make a move until they were positive they’d get Belichick.

Whatever the case may be, there is smoke. Some would try to dismiss it and/or claim that there is nothing to see here. There could be something to watch based on what happens Monday night.
