‘Is he right?’: Analyst issues bold statement on Kansas City matchup

While fans and pundits wait for the entire 2024 NFL regular season schedule to be released on Wednesday, speculation abounds as to which clubs will receive primetime games this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take up a lot of primetime slots.

Browns analyst Brad Stainbrook has strong feelings about whether the Cleveland Browns’ game versus the Chiefs is deserving of primetime.

Stainbrook wrote on Twitter that he “would honestly be shocked” if the Browns aren’t in ESPN’s Monday Night Football lineup this season.

The commentator detailed several reasons why the Kansas City Chiefs are a desirable team for ESPN to acquire multiple times this season.

Initially, Travis Kelce’s brother Jason is allegedly in talks to join ESPN for its Monday Night Football pregame program, as Stainbrook mentioned in his social media post.

The elder Kelce brother retired after the 2023 NFL season, and having his brother’s team on the broadcast would make for an intriguing subplot.

Furthermore, Stainbrook believes ESPN might capitalize on Taylor Swift’s link to the Chiefs.

Swift, who is dating Travis Kelce, attended several Kansas City games last year, helping the league raise its broadcast ratings as fans tuned in to see the musician.

Aside from the Chiefs, the Browns will host other big matchups this season, including the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys.

FOX Sports announced on Monday that Dallas will be the Week 1 opponent for Cleveland on September 8.
