David Prutton predicted that Ipswich Town will win at home against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend in his Sky Sports column.

At this point, the Tractor Boys are still in the running for automatic promotion, albeit their late 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City will have been a major setback.

The Bluebirds scoring twice in stoppage time will have stunned Kieran McKenna’s team, and it remains to be seen whether they can stay calm and get back on track.

They are only one point behind Leeds United, who are in second place, and this will provide them with plenty of motivation to win the game tomorrow.

They face Danny Rohl’s men, who have performed admirably since the former Bayern Munich coach arrived at Hillsborough.

Recent results have given them a chance to stay in the Championship, but they are still in the relegation zone and risk dropping down to League One.

Tomorrow afternoon’s game at Portman Road will not be easy for them, and the Owls will need to put on an outstanding display if they are to take three points away from Suffolk.

On paper, the Tractor Boys appear to be the favourites, but their loss to Cardiff last weekend must be examined.

Conceding twice so late would have been a huge morale blow, but they’ve showed great grit before by scoring their own late goals, and Prutton believes the hosts will get three points tomorrow.

He made a 2-1 prediction for Sky Sports, writing, “How much will that dramatic late defeat at Cardiff impact Ipswich?” Their winning streak has ended, but they still have a chance to reclaim second place here, if only for 24 hours.

“They must shake it off soon since there is little margin for error today.

“Sheffield Wednesday were beaten by Leeds last time out, ending their own winning streak, but they shouldn’t let that loss against such a strong team derail their momentum too much.

“They will still turn up to Portman Road optimistic of getting a result, but I think the Tractor Boys will bounce back here.”
