Ipswich Town showing interest for National League striker

According to a report, Ipswich Town are trialing Woking winger Karl Bailey.

Ipswich Town are monitoring the youngster in preparation for a possible move.

Bailey appeared for the Tractor Boys’ Under-18s in last weekend’s 4-1 loss against Wigan Athletic.

TWTD reports that he then played and scored for the Under-21s against Crewe Alexandra on Monday.

Ipswich Town look at trialist

Ipswich may regard Bailey as a future prospect, as they keep an eye on him.

The potential is currently on Woking’s books in the National League, where they sit 19th in the sixth tier table, only two points above the drop zone as they seek to avoid relegation to the National League South.

The Tractor Boys will have to decide whether to offer him a deal. He might be an important addition to their development squad, and the fact that he scored against Crewe will help his chances.

Following an outstanding season, Ipswich are top of the Championship table and face competition from Leicester City, Leeds United, and Southampton for a place in the Premier League.

They lead by a point with three games remaining against Hull City, Coventry City, and Huddersfield Town.

Their next two games, against the Tigers and the Sky Blues, are away, so Kieran McKenna will have difficult travel.

The Tractor Boys’ form has recently faltered as they attempt to get over the finish line. They are winless in their last three games.

In the meanwhile, while the first squad strives for top-flight football, the club continues to work hard behind the scenes, with Bailey being considered for trial.
