Ipswich Town set £350,000 price tag as Championship side target midfielder

According to TWTD, Ipswich Town are looking for roughly £350,000 for Idris El Mizouni, with Oxford United also interested and Derby County set to renew their interest.

Ipswich Town sent midfielder Idris El Mizouni out on a second loan to Leyton Orient last season, giving him another chance to play regularly away from Portman Road.

He would thrive with the Orioles once more, establishing himself as a dependable option at the third-tier level before an injury cut short his season. However, following the Tractor Boys’ elevation, the Tunisian is widely expected to move on.

Such developments were certain to grab EFL’s attention, and TWTD has now expressed interest.

El Mizouni has been valued at roughly £350,000 by Ipswich Town, according to reports. Loan club Leyton Orient is interested, but at that price, they may be priced out of a permanent deal for the midfielder.

Championship new boys. Oxford United are intrigued, while previous admirers and fellow promotion winners Derby County are expected to resume their chase of the 23-year-old.

Ready for a permanent move

After impressing in League Two and then League One in recent seasons, it appears that El Mizouni is ready to take the next step. The Championship could be the perfect destination, and this time around, he’d be better off leaving permanently.

From his perspective, he’ll be able to settle into a permanent home after a few years on loan.

From Ipswich Town’s perspective, they’d rather let El Mizouni leave for a fee than risk losing him for free next summer. It makes good business sense, even if it may force Leyton Orient out of the running for a reunion.

Championship supporters Oxford United and Derby County will be in a stronger position to complete a deal. It remains to be seen whether their interest has firmed up, and it would not be surprising if further interest arises.

Kicking on away from Portman Road

El Mizouni has long been regarded as a great prospect at Ipswich Town, but regular first-team opportunities eluded him, prompting the decision to loan him out on a temporary basis.

After stints with Cambridge United and Grimsby Town, it was with Leyton Orient that he truly established himself.

The midfielder was instrumental in the O’s promotion to League One, as well as their subsequent consolidation. As a result, it’s not surprising that they’d be interested in getting him back.

However, championship interest and a £350,000 valuation may complicate matters.
