Ipswich Town keen to sign £37m winger

In January, Ipswich Town are allegedly interested in signing Manchester United winger Amad Diallo.

According to the Sunday Mirror’s Darren Witcoop, the Championship club has increased their search for a striker following George Hirst’s long-term injury.

The Tractor Boys believe Amad is an excellent fit, and he has piqued the curiosity of Southampton.

After suffering a major knee injury during preseason, the 21-year-old is yet to play this season.

He has recently returned to training, but another loan spell appears to be in the works for the Ivorian, who is under contract with United until 2025.

Should United sanction a loan in January?

Amad, who joined United for £37 million in 2021, was anticipated to get more action at Old Trafford this season after impressing on loan at Sunderland in 2022-23.

Last season, the 21-year-old made 37 Championship appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists. However, he suffered a significant injury in the summer that kept him out for the first half of the season.

Amad is nearly back to full fitness, and we believe United should give him a chance to show off his skills.

The Ivorian is mostly a right winger, but he can also play as a center-forward and an attacking midfielder.

Antony has been playing on the right wing, but his performances have been underwhelming, with the Brazilian failing to score in 15 league outings.

We don’t believe Amad is ready to be a regular starter because he is still extremely young and hasn’t played much football. However, he could be a useful option for manager Erik ten Hag to have on the bench.
