Manchester City will face Ipswich Town in their second Premier League encounter of the season.

After defeating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge last weekend, the Citizens will welcome newly promoted Ipswich Town to the Etihad Stadium for their first home game of the new season.

In their first game, the Tractors fell 2-0 against Liverpool but managed to retain a clean sheet until the 60th minute.

Ahead of their next encounter, the Ipswich manager has expressed his opinion on one City player he hopes to see give a quiet performance on Saturday afternoon.

Kieran McKenna makes Erling Haaland claim ahead of Man City vs Ipswich

When asked about Erling Haaland during his recent news conference ahead of Saturday’s encounter against City, Kieran McKenna said the following.

He further commented: “He is pretty unique in world football; in terms of his physical attributes and his strength, pace and power – there’s probably not anyone in the modern game that comes close in these aspects.”

Haaland could be a danger for Ipswich

The two-time Golden Boot winner scored his first goal of the new season in last weekend’s victory at Stamford Bridge, after scoring 27 goals in 31 Premier League games the previous season.

Despite missing seven league games last season, the Norwegian nonetheless had more shots at goal (113) and on target (50) than any other player in the league.

This illustrates how dangerous the 24-year-old will be to Ipswich’s defence and goalie on Saturday.

In fact, Perry Groves recently compared Haaland’s goal-scoring talent to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Moving forward, now that McKenna has highlighted how special Haaland is in terms of what he brings to the pitch, the Ipswich manager will need to ensure his team can contain the City striker as much as possible on Saturday.
