Ipswich Town and Celtic having an eye on QPR star

QPR star Jake Clarke-Salter is attracting interest from a number of clubs, including Ipswich Town and Celtic, according to The Sun.

Clarke-Salter has been injury-free for QPR this season, and he has caught the eye in his regular appearances.

According to The Sun, Ipswich Town and Celtic are among those interested, with Premier League clubs Wolves, Crystal Palace, and Burnley also keeping an eye on him.

Clarke-Salter, 26, has played 29 Championship games this season and scored one.

When healthy, he’s been a dependable starter for Marti Cifuentes, creating a solid partnership with veteran Steve Cook at the center of the backline. His performances may earn him a high-profile move this summer, with clubs eyeing him as a potential target.

Clarke-Salter’s QPR contract is still in place for two years, but Ipswich Town and Celtic have been keeping an eye on him recently.

One to hold onto

Clarke-Salter has experienced injury issues with QPR, but this season he has been available for selection considerably more often than not. That has been a great boost for the player, helping him to regain momentum in terms of form while also developing a strong partnership with Cook.

It has also provided excellent value for the rupee. Having the former Chelsea player available and performing at his peak has been critical in the club’s quest to climb the Championship standings.

Understandably, this has sparked interest. Clarke-Salter was long regarded as a great prospect, having previously experienced successful Championship loans, but committing to a permanent stay with QPR may have prepared the door for him to fully realise his potential.

Time will tell if the interest from Ipswich Town, Celtic, and Premier League clubs bears fruit, but the West Londoners will be hoping to keep Clarke-Salter following a successful season.
