Ipswich star responds as Stuart Dallas confirms retirement from Leeds today

Leif Davis, a star player for Ipswich, wrote a message to Stuart Dallas following his announcement on April 10 that he was retiring from Leeds United.

After making the formal news on Instagram, Dallas received a barrage of well wishes for the future from both current and former Leeds players.

Among these were Davis, who merely commented with two white hearts; further comments were made by Jack Clarke, Pascal Struijk, Robbie Keane, and Luke Ayling.

There are rumors that Dallas might be given a non-playing position with the team.

Stuart Dallas announces retirement at Leeds United

Dallas said he was forced to realize that the damage to his knee was irreversible, which led to his decision to retire from football after he shattered his leg during a 2022 match against Manchester City and was unable to fully recover.

When Dallas posted a photo of himself kicking the ball on the field in September of last year, it seemed as though he had resumed full training at Thorp Arch. Copies of the photo, as well as supportive notes from both former and current colleagues, greeted him with optimism.

Sadly, though, it is announced that he must retire because of an injury. After advancing through Elland Road’s academy, Davis sent this message, probably drawing inspiration from the midfielder.

Dallas will undoubtedly be rooting for and encouraging his Leeds colleagues to win promotion in the Championship, following through on his success under Marcelo Bielsa’s tutelage to become a legend in Leeds history.
