There is both good and bad news from Newcastle United’s training ground ahead of Saturday’s match against Burnley.

Newcastle United are prepared to face relegation-threatened Burnley at Turf Moor, after dropping Sheffield United to the Championship. However, the Clarets have a much better chance of survival and should prove to be a difficult opponent.

Eddie Howe believes that three things are necessary. In order to qualify for Europe, the Magpies must maintain their winning streak. Newcastle hopes to qualify for the Europa League or the Europa Conference League by finishing in the top six.

Newcastle United defender forced off against Sheffield United

However, Newcastle United may need to address a new injury worry ahead of this weekend’s clash.

The Magpies have had an insane amount of injury problems this season, and they aren’t going away as we approach the end.

The latest concern is Fabian Schar, who was only able to play 45 minutes against Sheffield United on Saturday. He had to come off at halftime and was almost forced to go even earlier.

Following the game, Howe said that the £3 million man had a hamstring ailment that prevented him from sprinting.

Emil Krafth filled in admirably, but Newcastle management will be hoping Schar is available for the forthcoming trip to Lancashire.

Whether Fabian Schar has been seen in Newcastle United training

However, it remains to be seen whether Schar will participate this weekend.

On Wednesday, the club updated their official website with 27 training photographs from this week as Howe’s squad prepare to face Burnley.

Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, Harvey Barnes, and Anthony Gordon, as well as young players Alex Murphy and Ben Parkinson, were all involved.

However, there was no evidence of Schar. That is a concern, and he is doubtful for the game against Burnley.

However, this does not rule him out. He still has time to heal, and the fact that he has not been seen does not imply that he has not trained.

Some positive news ahead of Newcastle’s game against Burnley

We are awaiting an official report on Schar, but there is some encouraging news.

While it is unknown whether the 32-year-old will be ready this weekend, there is now a chance that an injured player will return.

Miguel Almiron has been spotted in training after missing Newcastle’s previous five games due to a knee injury.

He limped off after only coming on against West Ham in March, but he now appears to be in contention for Newcastle’s remaining four games of the season.

It was reported that Almiron was the most likely to return among him, Kieran Trippier, Joelinton, and Nick Pope, and this appears to be the case.

The others haven’t been spotted in training. Trippier is currently in Dubai, hoping to return for Brighton, while Joelinton and Pope have not been seen.
