Injury update: West Ham player battles fitness, questionable for match against Villa

According to Dr. Rajpal Brar, West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell should be able to play against Aston Villa after being cleared by the medical staff.

Cresswell should be sidelined for no more than two weeks, according to the injury expert, and will therefore return after the international break.

On Sunday, October 22, the Hammers visit Villa Park, and David Moues will be hoping to have a complete roster available to him.

Physical therapist and sports scientist Brar, who spoke exclusively to West Ham Zone, said:

According to the terminology, he appears to have a low level strain, which usually causes a 1-2 week return.Depending on the particulars, there are still differences on it.

If it is a low-level strain, a comeback on October 22 after a slow build-up would be more than sufficient, but he is still in doubt until he receives the go-ahead from the team.

The 33-year-old defender is yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this year, not even as a substitute.

He has only played once for the Hammers, and that was in the Europa League, when he didn’t last more than an hour.

Once he is healthy, it will be interesting to see if Moyes decides to give the left-back a run of first-team minutes, or if a January transfer is more likely.
