Injury Update: Packers Coach Alludes To Rookie’s Situation in Week 13

Few are predicting that Jaire Alexander and the Green Bay Packers can pull off the big upset when they take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 13.

The length of Green Bay’s injured list is one factor contributing to that. It is hoped that they will receive much-needed support when they go back to defense to face Patrick Mahomes.

The Packers have only heard one very unfavorable injury report thus far. The team’s star running back, Aaron Jones, will miss yet another game because of a knee ailment. But the offense has had to deal with that on a regular basis this season.

Another well-known player who has missed time this season due to injuries is Alexander. Though there haven’t been any updates regarding his situation as of yet, Green Bay is expecting to have him back on the field this week.

That being considered, Joe Barry, the defensive coordinator, might have given away a lot about Alexander’s situation. He recently discussed the possibility of the standout cornerback playing football again.

Packers Drop Huge Hint About Jaire Alexander’s Week 13 Status

Barry recently stated that the standout cornerback has had a few really nice days as he prepares to return to game action, according to a comment that The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman posted.

“He’s had two pretty good days, yesterday and today.”

Alexander’s return would be such a breath of fresh air for the Packers defense when they play Mahomes. It would be a huge disadvantage to face the finest quarterback in the league without several important defensive backs. Green Bay needs Alexander back because he is the kind of player who can win a game on his own.

Alexander has only been able to participate in five games for the Packers this season. He has totaled 22 tackles in those games, along with four passes defended and no interceptions. The timing is perfect for him to make a comeback and record his first interception of the year.

Regarding Alexander’s final decision for this week’s game against the Chiefs, only time will tell. Although this is fantastic news, nothing is finalized just yet.

Make sure to watch NBC at 8:20 p.m. EST to see if the Packers can pull off the historic shock of the Chiefs.
