Injury Update: Most Recent Information Regarding Jaguars QB

After Monday night’s game at EverBank Stadium, the Jaguars’ biggest issue was definitely not an overtime loss to the Bengals.

With little under six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Trevor Lawrence seemed to have suffered a lower leg injury. As Lawrence was blocking a pass for Trey Hendrickson, left lineman Walker Little stepped on his ankle. The quarterback collapsed to the ground with his left leg all knotted.

After taking two limp steps in an attempt to stand up, Lawrence dropped to his knees, punched the playing field, and threw off his helmet. It took assistance to get the third-year professional off the field and into the training area.

Adam Schefter of ESPN gave a status update on Lawrence following the game.

“Sources said that Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence sprained his ankle during initial testing,” Schefter said on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter. Lawrence will be put through more tests on Tuesday and tonight to ascertain the severity of his injuries and the duration of his absence.

On Monday night, C.J. Beathard took Lawrence’s spot. Should the 2021 No. 1 overall pick miss time, Beathard is expected to start for Jacksonville. The Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans are both just one game behind the Jaguars in the AFC South standings, even after their loss to the Bengals.

Jacksonville’s next two games, however, are against tough opponents. On Sunday, Pederson’s team will travel to Cleveland, home of the Browns, who have what is probably the best defense in the NFL. In Week 15, the Jags will play home to the Baltimore Ravens, who are currently the best seed in the AFC.
