INJURY UPDATE: Cardinals safety doubtful against the Rams

According to numerous media reports, Arizona Cardinals starting safety Jalen Thompson is doubtful to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams after being placed to the injury report on Saturday due to a back ailment.

This week’s injury reports for the squad did not include Thompson. Due to a hamstring injury, he did not play in the Cardinals’ (2-9) loss against the Rams (4-6) on October 15.

Thompson, 25, has made 48 tackles, one sack, two interceptions, four passes defended, and one forced fumble in nine games that he has started and participated in.

He was chosen by the Cardinals from Washington State in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Supplemental Draft. In 63 games (51 starts), Thompson has 355 tackles, seven interceptions, and 23 passes defensed.

Andre Chachere was named by Arizona as his substitute, and Joey Blount, another backup safety, was labeled as questionable for the game due to a knee injury. Blount was a sparse participant on Thursday and Friday and did not practice on Wednesday.
