On Tuesday, the Indianapolis Colts announced the signing of two defensive lineman to the practice squad.

To create room for these two new players on the practice squad, two roster adjustments were required. The first was quarterback Jason Bean being placed on the practice squad’s injured list.

The Colts’ second action was to release cornerback Kelvin Joseph, who had only been signed two weeks before.

Joseph was a former second-round choice of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2021 NFL draft. He also spent time in Miami and Seattle.

Joseph has participated in 31 games over his career, including seven starts. He has 353 total defensive snaps, nearly all of which have come as a boundary cornerback. The majority of his playing time occurred during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, when he was also a key special teams contributor.

According to Pro Football Focus, Joseph has allowed a 60% completion rate on 35 targets, averaging 15.0 yards per catch and four pass breakups.

Without Joseph, the Colts still have three cornerbacks on their practice squad: Gregory Junior, David Long, and Jaylin Simpson.

Kenny Moore and Dallis Flowers left Sunday’s game against Chicago late, putting the 53-man roster’s depth to the test. As of Monday, head coach Shane Steichen had no updates on Moore.
