Josh Cullen has started all nine of Burnley’s Premier League games this year, but a punishment might yet be imposed on him.
From his team’s first 9 Premier League games, every player who receives five bookings will miss one match in that tournament. There is no carryover of yellow cards to the FA Cup or Carabao Cup.
Cullen is one yellow card away from receiving a suspension after picking up four bookings so far this season.
The 27-year-old was booked for the latest time on Saturday during Brentford’s 3-0 loss. In the matches against Nottingham Forest, Chelsea, and Aston Villa, he was also carded.
Three bookings have been made for Jordan Beyer, Sander Berge, and Connor Roberts. Josh Brownhill and Charlie Taylor have two each, while Jay Rodriguez, Zeki Amdouni, Hannes Delcroix, Hjalmar Ekdal, Arijanet Muric, James Trafford, and Hannes Delcroix each have one.
Regarding suspensions, Roberts will not play in Saturday’s match against Bournemouth after receiving a red card for two bookable offenses against Brentford the previous weekend.
After serving his one-match suspension, he will be eligible to play in the Carabao Cup midweek matchup against Everton the following week.
Lewis Cook is another player from Bournemouth who will be absent at the Vitality Stadium this weekend.
The midfield player began a three-match sentence after being hauled off for violent behavior during Bournemouth’s 2-1 loss to Wolves on Saturday.
Cook will be unavailable for Bournemouth’s upcoming two league games in addition to their Carabao Cup matchup with Liverpool.
