‘I Genuinely Don’t Think…’ Former EFL star has insisted that Birmingham City should not…

Adrian Clarke, a former EFL star, has stated that Birmingham City should not be in the Championship’s relegation zone considering the quality of their list.

Birmingham are 21st in the Championship rankings, just outside the relegation zone thanks to a higher goal difference.

Gary Rowett has been named interim head coach as the Blues attempt to avoid relegation at the end of the season.

Clarke stated that he has watched a lot of the Birmingham club this season and believes that given the makeup of their squad, they should be around mid-table in the Championship.

He expressed surprise that they are still striving to stay in the Championship at this point in the season.

Clarke said on the What The EFL Podcast: “I have seen a lot of them.

“I genuinely don’t think they are that bad a team.

“I look at the starting eleven when everyone is fit and I think that squad there should be 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th probably in the Championship.

“They should be nowhere near where they are.”

Birmingham will return from their international break with a journey to London to face Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
